Cuisine American
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats 45g
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter 16g
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds 5g
- 1/2 cup milk plus more for serving, 120ml
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey optional
- Optional toppings: sliced banana fresh berries, chopped nuts
In a jar or container with a lid, add the rolled oats and chia seeds.
Add the peanut butter, milk, and optional maple syrup or honey.
Stir everything together very well until the peanut butter is mostly mixed in. Some small clumps are fine.
Secure the lid on the container.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
Before serving, stir the oats. If they seem too thick, add another splash of milk to reach your desired consistency.
Add your favorite toppings, like banana slices or berries, before enjoying.
The oats will be thick in the morning. A splash of milk helps loosen them to a spoonable texture.
For a smoother texture, stir the peanut butter with a little of the milk first before adding the rest of the ingredients.
Feel free to double or triple the recipe in separate containers for a few days of grab-and-go breakfasts.
