  • 2 tablespoons Sugar Adjust to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil Can be replaced with softened butter

Instructions

Dough Preparation

  • In a bread machine, combine the large egg, pure milk, high-gluten flour, white sugar, and highly active yeast. Knead for about 5-6 minutes until the mixture is smooth.
  • After the initial kneading, add the butter and salt to the dough. Continue kneading for another 10 minutes until the dough achieves a smooth and elastic consistency.
  • Shape the dough into a ball and place it back in the bread machine, allowing it to ferment until doubled in size, typically around 1 hour.
  • In a bowl, mix the black sesame powder, coconut oil, and water. Stir until the mixture is spreadable and has a paste-like consistency.
  • In another bowl, combine medium-gluten flour, sugar, and coconut oil. Use your fingers to rub the ingredients together until crumbly.
  • Roll out the fermented dough into a rectangle. Spread the prepared black sesame filling evenly across the surface, then fold and reshape it. Cut the dough into strips as desired.
  • Place the rolled dough back into the bread machine for another rise, about 30-45 minutes, until puffy.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the top with egg wash, sprinkle the crumble topping over it, and bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Once baked, remove the loaf from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Optional: Serve warm, drizzled with honey, for an extra touch of sweetness. Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze slices for up to 1 month.
