Cuisine American
- 1 cup cooked ham cut into 1-inch cubes, about 170g
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise 58g
- 2 tablespoons chopped celery
- 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon chopped sweet onion
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Place the cubed ham, chopped celery, and chopped onion into the bowl of a food processor.
Pulse the mixture 5 to 7 times, until the ingredients are finely chopped but still have some texture. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula if needed.
Add the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, and Dijon mustard to the processor.
Pulse again 3 to 4 more times, just until everything is combined into a cohesive spread.
Be careful not to over-mix, as this can make the salad texture gummy.
Transfer the ham salad to a bowl. Serve right away, or cover and chill for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
For a chunkier salad, you can finely mince all the ingredients by hand and mix them together in a bowl.
Taste the salad before serving. You can add a pinch of black pepper or a little more mustard if you like.
Using cold ingredients will give you a salad that is chilled and ready to eat immediately.
