  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ½ tsp almond extract
  • Red gel food coloring
  • Green gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter and gradually add sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time; mix in milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  5. Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Divide batter into two bowls; color one red and one green using gel food coloring.
  7. Alternate spoonfuls of red and green batter into each liner; swirl gently with a toothpick.
  8. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack before frosting.
