  • 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (smoky flavor preferred)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rinse the brisket under cold water and pat dry.
  2. In a small bowl, mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder; rub generously over the brisket.
  3. Heat oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear each side of the brisket for about four minutes until golden.
