  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms (cremini or button), sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup dry Marsala wine
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Slice the mushrooms, chop the onion, and mince the garlic.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and mushrooms; cook until softened.
  3. Layer chicken breasts in the slow cooker and top with the sautéed mushroom mixture.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together Marsala wine, chicken broth, and cornstarch until smooth. Pour over the chicken.
  5. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of at least 165°F.
