  • 2 large yellow onions, sliced
  • 4 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 4 crusty French rolls
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions into thin rings. Season the beef chuck roast generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the seasoned beef on each side for about 4-5 minutes until browned.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced onions with a pinch of salt; cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Place caramelized onions at the bottom of the slow cooker. Add seared beef, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic.
  5. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours until tender.
  6. Remove beef, shred it with forks, then pile onto French rolls topped with extra caramelized onions. Serve warm with dipping broth.
