  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 34 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in oil until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. Add ground beef or lamb and cook until browned; drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in diced carrots, frozen peas, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Pour in beef broth and let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Prepare the mashed potatoes while the filling simmers.
  7. Spread the meat filling evenly in a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes, creating swirls with a fork.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes until the top is golden brown. Serve with gravy if desired.
