  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and cornstarch mixture over medium heat until thickened.
  6. Add the baked meatballs to the gravy and simmer for five minutes before serving over mashed potatoes or noodles.
