  • 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (spicy or mild)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup bell peppers (any color), diced
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 large egg mixed with 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Break into small pieces.
  3. Add the diced onion and bell peppers to the skillet; sauté until softened, around 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Roll out one puff pastry sheet on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon the sausage mixture onto one half of the pastry.
  6. Fold over the other half to cover the filling and crimp edges with a fork to seal. Brush with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
