Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 duck breasts (approximately 12 oz each)
  • 1 large orange (zested and juiced)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Score the skin of each duck breast in a crisscross pattern and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Place duck breasts skin-side down in a cold skillet over medium heat. Cook for 6-8 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
  3. Flip the breasts and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until desired doneness (medium-rare recommended). Remove from skillet to rest.
  4. In the same skillet, pour off excess fat, leaving about 1 tbsp. Add orange juice, honey, and chicken broth, scraping up brown bits. Simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened; whisk in butter if desired.
  5. Slice rested duck against the grain and serve drizzled with orange sauce.
