Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Combine flour and salt in another bowl; add melted butter and eggs. Mix with yeast mixture until well combined.
  3. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
  4. 4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle (12×18 inches). Spread softened butter over it and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. 5. Roll tightly from one edge into a log shape, pinch seams closed, and slice into equal pieces (about 1 inch thick). Place cut-side up in a greased baking pan.
  6. 6. Let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating oven to 350°F. Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. 7. While cooling slightly, mix together cream cheese frosting ingredients until smooth and drizzle over warm rolls.
