  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until fully combined; be careful not to overmix!
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  6. Allow cookies to cool on the sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
