Beef jerky is a savory, protein-packed snack that you can easily make at home. This recipe combines lean beef with a flavorful marinade of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and spices for a deliciously chewy treat perfect for outdoor adventures or cozy nights in.   • 1 lb beef round or flank steak
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick).
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and optional cayenne/red pepper flakes.
  3. Marinate the beef in a resealable bag or shallow dish for at least four hours (overnight preferred).
  4. Preheat the oven to its lowest setting (around 170°F or 75°C) and line baking sheets with aluminum foil.
  5. Remove beef from marinade, pat dry with paper towels, and arrange in a single layer on prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 4-6 hours until dry but slightly pliable. Let cool before storing.
