Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two cupcake pans with festive paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar until combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add wet ingredients to dry mixture and stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
  7. For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy, gradually adding powdered sugar and heavy cream until fluffy. Pipe onto cooled cupcakes in the shape of Santa hats.
