  • 1 gallon whole milk
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt with live cultures

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 gallon of milk into the inner pot of your Instant Pot and press the 'Yogurt' button until it displays 'Boil' to heat the milk.
  2. Once boiled, cool the milk to around 110°F (43°C) using a cold water bath if desired.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of plain yogurt with 1 cup of cooled milk until smooth. Add this mixture back into the remaining cooled milk in the Instant Pot.
  4. Press the 'Yogurt' button again and set the timer for 8-12 hours based on your desired tanginess; cover and let it ferment.
  5. After fermentation, transfer your yogurt to containers and refrigerate for at least two hours for thicker consistency.
  6. Serve with fruits, granola, or toppings of your choice.
