  • 5 whole cloves

  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients: red wine, orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise (if using), and honey or sugar.
  2. In a pot, pour in the red wine and add the orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Heat on low for about 20 minutes until warmed through; do not boil.
  4. Sweeten to taste with honey or sugar. Stir well.
  5. Strain out solids using a fine mesh sieve and serve in heatproof mugs garnished with extra orange slices or cinnamon sticks.
