  • 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce (no added sugar)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground meat, breadcrumbs, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and half of the shredded cheese until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small meatballs about the size of golf balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Once baked, add the meatballs to the warm marinara sauce and serve topped with remaining cheese.
